Store Love

store love – the house of proust antiques

While visiting Okotoks this summer, I stopped into The House of Proust Antiques (2 Clark Ave, Okotoks AB) for the first time.

The House of Proust Antiques

The building was previously known as St. Peter’s Anglican Church and now houses a great antique shop.

View of church

The interior is still open and instead of pews, there is a wonderful selection of furniture, lighting and unique accessories. Look at those great portraits on the wall!

I love the original windows in the space. Continue reading “store love – the house of proust antiques”

store love – mid-century antiques

On a recent trip to Nanton, I was finally able to visit Mid-Century Antiques.  They’re open weekends and then by chance during the week which is why I haven’t been able to stop in before.

Mid-Century Antiques

The store has two floors and is full of wonderful mid-century modern pieces plus lots of other vintage finds.

Spara pottery

There is an amazing amount of SPARA West German pottery in the store.  The owner purchased stock when a factory closed and the second floor is full of racks.  I see a lot of West German pottery popping up on Instagram, blog posts, etc. and this is certainly a store to visit for a collector.

I will definitely make sure I time my next visit to Nanton when Mid-Century Antiques is open.  It’s such a great town full of so many antique shops.  You can see my previous posts on Lost Ark Antiques and Sentimental Journey.
